West Side Shabbaton |
Welcome one and all to the West Side Shabbaton! The Rebbe of Nikolsburg will be in the West Side of Manhattan the weekend of February 10th-11th 2012, Parshas Yisro. For an enjoyable and spiritual event, please join us for all or part of the Shabbos at your convenience. Here is the schedule for the event.
Candle Lighting is at 5:05 PM. There will be
Mincha/Kabbolos Shabbos at 5:10 PM.
Shkiah is at 5:23 PM.
Davening will be followed by a private dinner; sign up on the website to be part of it: www.wsisny.org.
The tish will be open to the public and will be starting at 8:00 PM.
This will all take place at the West Side Institutional Synagogue
located at 120 West 76th Street, N.Y. 10023.
On Shabbos morning, Shacharis will be at 9:00 AM
followed by a lavish Kiddush,
Kumzitz and Oneg at 12:15 PM, also
at the West Side Institutional Synagogue located at

Mincha/Shalos Seudos will be at 4:45 PM
at Congregation Heichal Moshe (Vorhand Shteibel)located at

Hachnosas Sefer Torah |
Exciting News From Nikolsburg!!!
The last day of Chanukah is known to have tremendous potential for prayer and growth in Torah and ruchnius. In the court of the Nikolsburg Rebbe, shlita, and the surrounding Monsey community, this day was fittingly celebrated with a beautiful Hachnosas Sefer Torah, followed by the Rebbe’s lighting of the menorah and Zos Chanukah tish.
The Sefer Torah was donated by R’ Yakov Shmuel Shimon Fajer and his family from Sao Paulo, Brazil, a close friend and admirer of Nikolsburg, in memory of his son Pinchos Eliahu a”h who was tragically niftar in a recent accident.
The writing of the final letters took place during the 7th day of Chanukah. Many rabbonim and important personalities came to personally take part in this special mitzvah.
The Nikolsburg Rebbe, shlita, and spoke warmly at the Siyum about the greatness of the moment. He pointed out that the new Sefer Torah was a tremendous aliya for Pinchas Eliahu’s neshama, bringing him much joy in Gan Eden. The Rebbe was then given the honor to write the final letter in the scroll, which the Rebbe did with tremendous hislahavus and dveikus.
The Sefer Torah was led outdoors and marched amidst joyous singing and dancing to the Nikolsburg Bais Midrash on Milton Place. Although the Torah march was abbreviated due to the rain, the lively music and songs ensured that the rain did not dampen the spirit. The Rebbe carried the new Sefer Torah into shul, followed closely by R’ Yakov Shmuel Shimon Fajer and his family, and his close friends who recently traveled together to Prague and old Nikolsburg. The celebration continued inside the shul, reaching new heights of simcha.
A large crowd gathered for the Neros Chanukah lighting led by the Rebbe.
The Zos Chanukah tish and seudas mitzvah in honor of the Torah was held in the Yeshiva building to accommodate the large crowd of participants. Then Mr. Fajer was presented with a plaque in honor of his generosity.
The Nikolsburg kehilla utilized this opportunity to present a plaque to one of the esteemed guests from Los Angeles, California, R’ Shlomo Goldner, who has supported Nikolsburg for more than two decades.
The climax of the seuda was the Rebbe’s inspiring message. He mentioned that, as we know, the neshamos come down from shamayim during a family simcha. “Tonight, we are joined by the neshama of the choshuva bachur in whose memory this Sefer Torah was written. He is here with us today, partaking in his personal simcha!”
The speeches were followed by uplifting singing and dancing and then came the minhag of dreidel shpil, As the last Chanukah lights went out, the new Sefer Torah began to spread its light upon the world.
