Chanuka is the Yom Tov that represents the Light of Torah. During the second Bais Hamikdosh, when the Syrian-Greeks spread the darkness of their atheistic culture throughout the world, the Jewish people fought the mighty enemy to defend the Torah. Miraculously, a handful of poorly armed Jewish fighters defeated the powerful Syrian-Greek army. They cleansed the vandalized Bais Hamikdosh and lit the Menorah with a tiny flask of pure oil. Amazingly, the Menorah continued to burn for eight days, symbolizing the full brightness of Torah wisdom which finally returned to Judea.
In every generation, we must search for the flask of pure oil and light up the world with the wisdom of Torah. It is this guiding light that enables the Jewish people to exist and thrive in the far corners of the world. Wherever there are Jews, they need Torah for their existance.
Like the Hashmoneans of the Second Temple Era, the Rebbe of Nikolsburg dispels the darkness of the world with his Torah wisdom and teachings. The Rebbe lights the Menorah of world Jewry by spreading Torah to all.
